Damir Shavkatov

BIO 

Hi everyone! My name is Damir Shavkatov, and I’m a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Marketing. I’m excited to run for Undergraduate Student Government President.

Over the past three years, I’ve been deeply involved in Brooklyn College. As a BC Navigator, I guide prospective students through campus, showcasing the opportunities BC offers. I’ve served on the boards of the CUNY Uzbek Society and the Veteran Students’ Organization and currently volunteer with Global Medical Bridges. As a USG Student Senator, I’m also part of the Social Media Team and serve as the Student Affairs Committee Clerk.

I was honored as the 2024 Brooklyn College Volunteer of the Year and conducted research through the Tow Mentoring Initiative on how the accessibility of support services can improve student social mobility. I’ve also represented students in the 2024 NYS Model Senate and am currently part of the CUNY Malave Leadership Academy, advocating for higher education funding and helping push the initiative for free Metrocards for CUNY students.

My goal is to strengthen student advocacy at Brooklyn College and across CUNY. I can’t wait to work with you all to build a better BC!
